Dogtown Dogs began in 2009 as Chef Ryan Bailey and restauranteur Mike Rosá decided it was time for Los Angeles have a gourmet Hot Dog truck. Ryan Bailey came from a background of high end dining. Including Patina, Koi, and Makai. Mike Rosa has served in many managerial roles in Los Angeles and New York. Such as The Hudson Hotel, Red O, and Makai.
Dogtown Dogs was inspired by the surf skate culture of Los Angeles west side. Like Venice itself Dogtown aims to look blend the high and the low in an irreverent way.
